OMIK Haitian Relief Effort is at $1,975

operation haitiOn January 17, OMIK Amateur Radio Association, Inc. launched Operation Haiti. The goal is to raise funds to support the relief effort for persons affected by the earthquake. All money will be used to provide medical care and food for persons in the affected area.

OMIK Amateur Radio Association has allocated a total of $500 to match contributions by its members (and others).

The total contributions will be presented to the Salvation Army International Relief Fund to aid in the relief effort. OMIK members in the DC/VA area will be notified about opportunities to participate in the check presentation.

If you wish to to make a tax deductible contribution, please make your check payable to the Salvation Army Haiti Earthquake, which will send you an IRS approved receipt.

If you do not need a tax deduction, make your check payable to OMIK Amateur Radio Association and put Haiti Earthquake relief in the memo section.

The Salvation Army has had a presence in Haiti since 1950 and currently operates schools, clinics, a hospital, feeding programs, children's homes and church-related activities spread across two major facilities in Port au Prince, close to the epicenter of the earthquake and at other locations in the country.


You Can Register Now for the 2010 OMIK ConventionSheraton Hotel

The Sheraton Hotel has set up a personalized web site for OMIK’s convention that will be held July 12 thru 18, 2010 at the Sheraton Westport Lakeside Chalet in St. Louis.

You can access the special hotel web site to learn more about the event and to book, modify, or cancel a reservation from September 11, 2009 to July 18, 2010.
